In this piece, I wanted to honor intergenerational love and care, and had several questions that guided my work: What does it look like, to love a place so deeply that it’s felt by the land and the people even when you’re not there? What does it feel like, to trust in the beauty of our imperfect, but just future and to play an active role in creating it? What does creation look like when the people collaborate with and learn from the land?

I’m continuing to work through my grief and build joy in many ways and I know my art is/will be one of them.
